My Story
My earliest and happiest memories were rooted in nature: hunting for skulls in the forest, eating my grandfather's nickle-sized blueberries, petting bees, and playing “house” in my handmade fort. In those moments, I felt unconditionally safe and deeply at home. With that grounding, I found the confidence to explore my inner world and tend to my mental health during a time that can be turbulent for many preteens. By 8th grade, I had convinced my mother to let me borrow the family credit card to invest in a self-help program I saw advertised on PBS. That insatiable curiosity about myself, nature, and the human experience has only grown, and I carry it into every therapy session. I feel honored to witness the vulnerabilities, insights, and growth of the people with whom I work.
I have lived a full life, traveling widely and gaining professional experience across seven industries. Wherever I went, I was consistently drawn back to my passion for understanding the human experience and expanding our sense of what’s possible for personal growth and healing. In 2021, I brought my love of nature and therapeutic work together by founding my first Maryland-based group practice, Outdoor Therapeutics. That chapter was deeply meaningful, and over time I realized that leading a growing organization required energy and focus that pulled me away from the direct, relational work I value most. In 2026, I chose to return to solo practice, beginning a more inward-focused chapter of my professional and personal life. During that time, the words of Helene Cixous felt especially resonant: “We must kill the false woman who is preventing the live one from breathing.”
The current expression of my work, Terra Soma Health, reflects my desire to deepen my clinical focus, live with intention, and stay closely connected to myself and the natural world. Outside of work, my family and I spend time foraging, homesteading, guerilla gardening, and nurturing our relationship with the land. It's a privilege to live in a way that feels authentic and grounded and I hope to extend that privilege to others as they work to remove the barriers to coming home to themselves.
