Integrative Therapeutic Approach at Terra Soma Health

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE), developed by Peter Levine, is a body-oriented approach for healing trauma and stress disorders. It focuses on releasing stored energy to promote self-regulation, rather than solely narrative-based therapy.

Ecosomatics

Ecosomatic therapy blends body-awareness practices with connection to the natural world, recognizing that physical, emotional, and environmental experiences are intertwined. By using mindful movement, sensory awareness, grounding, and interaction with nature, it helps people regulate their nervous systems and feel a deeper sense of belonging in their bodies and surrounding ecosystems.

Nature Informed Therapies

Nature-informed therapy is an umbrella term for clinical approaches that use the natural world to support healing. These interventions include but are not limited to horticultural therapy, forest bathing, wilderness therapy, and animal-assisted therapy. Together, these approaches help clients reduce stress, build resilience, and experience meaningful growth through connection with nature.

Transpersonal & Spiritual Psychology

Spiritual psychology and transpersonal approaches share a focus on human growth beyond the ego, emphasizing connection, meaning, and higher states of consciousness. When combined with clinical work that uses nature and plant medicine, they intersect in supporting holistic healing—addressing mind, body, and spirit through experiential, nature-based, and consciousness-expanding practices.

Psychedelic Integration (Plant Medicine)

Psychedelic integration supports individuals in processing and making meaning of experiences with plant medicines or other psychedelics. Terra Soma Health offers integration sessions for clients currently working with psychedelic providers and is open to collaborating with those providers, helping clients safely translate insights into personal growth and lasting well-being.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that sees the mind as made up of multiple “parts,” each with its own thoughts, feelings, and patterns, alongside the core Self—a calm, compassionate, and wise presence that is distinct from the ego. IFS helps clients recognize and separate from ego-driven parts, allowing the Self to lead with clarity, curiosity, and compassion, fostering healing, balance, and greater emotional resilience.

Jungian Psychology

Jungian psychology, developed by Carl Jung, explores the unconscious mind, archetypes, and the process of individuation—the journey toward integrating all aspects of the self. In therapy, it helps clients gain insight into hidden patterns, dreams, and symbols, fostering self-awareness, personal growth, and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy designed to help people process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. By using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reframe painful memories, reducing their emotional intensity. This can relieve anxiety, flashbacks, and other trauma-related symptoms, allowing clients to feel calmer, more present, and better able to move forward in life.
